| Fri 19th February | Dressage clinics with Andrew Day (every 4 weeks -Feb, March, April, May) via one of our members offering places to other WVRC members. One to one sessions from 8am to 1pm - £45. Andrew started his equestrian career as a three-day event rider, but since turning to dressage has trained to Grand Prix level. He enjoys training riders and horses of any level from rising to the trot to piaffe! | ||
| Thu 25th February | Pilates for Riders with Anne-marie Sivyer £35 for the 6 week course. 7.30pm at Haslemere Prep School. Limited places so please email nicky.machin@googlemail.com to book. This is a short course designed to get you started on some Pilates exercises to strengthen your core and improve your postural alignment. It is suitable for beginners and my objective is to teach you a series of exercises to help your riding and that you will be able to continue with after the course. | Mon 22nd March | Worplesdon and District Bridleways Association lecture demonstration with Alison Craig (BHSI) and Tracey Smale (BHSII) at Parwood Equestrian Centre - how lungeing over poles and jumps can help to improve your horse's athleticism, suppleness and technique, as well as rehabilitate it following an injury. Tracey and Alison will show you how to use simple grids and jumps to build your confidence together. We try and keep jumping clinics to groups of 4 or less and no more than 2 in flat work lessons - this is so that you can gain as much from your time with the trainer and your horse.
The lessons tend to be 1 hour for show jumping and 1.5 hours for cross country and 45 minutes for flat work - with a feedback time at the end of each lesson for you to have a chance to chat to your trainer about what to work on and your progression throughout the lesson.
